Danville Couple Feted on Golden Anniversary

Mr. and Mrs. J.B. Morris celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with an open house Sunday afternoon.

Hosts were their children, James and Lee Roy Morris of Louisiana, Arnold Morris of Texarkana, Ray Morris of Russellville and A.D. Morris, Mrs. Hubert (Lenore) Hall and Mrs. Earl (Effiegene) Stapleton of Danville. They have 33 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

The Morrises were married Aug. 9, 1924 at Paris. Mrs. Morris is the former Frances Bullock.

Approximately 130 persons attended the anniversary celebration. Guests included Mrs. Morris' brothers from Alabama and California and sisters from Paris and Oklahoma and Mr. Morris' sister from Bauxite.

The serving table was covered with a white lace cloth and centered with a bouquet of mums and daisies flanked by candles in holders decorated in gold with the numeral 50. Punch was ladled from a crystal bowl.
