GULFPORT -- David Clifton Sloan Sr., 75, died Thursday, Feb. 18, 1999, in Gulfport.
Mr. Sloan was a native of Decatur, Ala., and a resident of the Coast since 1982. He was an Army veteran of World War II and was an automotive salesman. He was a member of the Family Worship Center in Gulfport.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Eliza Sloan; and a sister, Louise Sloan.
Survivors include his wife, Cecil Alexander Sloan of Gulfport; six sons, Sanford Clark Sloan of Friendship, Tenn., David Clifton Sloan of Decatur, Randall Sloan of Nashville, Jeffery Lynn Sloan of Biloxi, and Timothy Dewayne Sloan and Clay Thomas Sloan, both of Gulfport; two daughters, Roxanne Sloan and Deborah Ann Strickland, both of Gulfport; a sister, Maggie Hazelrig of Decatur; 16 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
A service was held Saturday at Riemann Memorial Funeral Home, U.S. 49 North, Gulfport. Burial will be in Biloxi National Cemetery at 10:30 a.m. Monday.
