Ione Elaine Langton from Salol, MN passed away on September 16, 2009 at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis, MN at the age of 66.
Ione Kent, the daughter of Fred and Bertha (Nelson) Kent, was born on August 2, 1943 at Warroad, MN. She grew up in Roosevelt and also attended school there.
On September 5, 1959, she and Garry Langton were united in marriage at Williams, MN. They lived in Montana and Oregon for awhile and then back to Salol in 1967. She was employed at the Children's Home, the Salol School and Nelson's Café. She then worked at the post office in Salol and Roseau for many years, retiring in 1990 due to a work injury.
Ione enjoyed visiting over a cup of coffee (the pot was always on), playing cards, traveling, dancing, her horses, ice fishing, watching the birds and squirrels and her greatest joy were her grandchildren. She will be remembered as being a very loving, caring and feisty person. She was the family nurse and was a great listener and gave great advice. She had been a past member of the Salol Homemakers.
She was preceded in death by her parents, infant son, Shane and brothers, Ted, Fred, Paul and Norman.
