SAUNEMIN - The Funeral Of Alfred E. Tammen, 74, of Saunemin will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Stewart Funeral Home, Cullom.

The Rev. Craig Wagner will officiate. Burial will be in Avoca Cemetery, rural Fairbury.

Visitation will be after 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Mr. Tammen died at 3:15 p.m. Saturday (Jan. 26, 1991) at his home.

He was born Feb. 16, 1916, in Worthington, Minn., a son of Henry F. and Margaret Smith Tammen.

Surviving are one son, Alfred E. Jr., Pleasant Valley, Iowa: three daughters, Carol Houser, Muscatine, Iowa: Diane Gumm, Mountain Home, Ark.; and Beverly Tomasino, Cloverdale, Ind.; two brothers, John, Gridley, and Arnold, Ludlow: two sisters, Margaret Locker, Pontiac, and Lydia Goeken, West Union, Iowa: 13 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one daughter, two grandchildren, one great-grandchild and nine brothers and sisters. A Lutheran, Mr. Tammen was educated in Flanagan schools. Before retiring in 1979, he had worked for 15 years at Interlake Steel in Pontiac.
