She was born in Mason Township on November 24, 1918, a daughter of Edwin W. and Alice D. Mills Rolfe. She was educated in Bethel schools. She worked for A. L. Stewart for 20 years, retiring in 1980.
On July 24, 1937 she married Earl L. Grover of Otisfield, who passed away March 15, 1989. She enjoyed and took pride in her vegetable and flower garden, sharing her products with family and friends. She also enjoyed playing beano, knitting mittens and baby blankets for all of her grandchildren and needy kids, and she was an avid Red Sox fan.
She was predeceased by her husband of 51 years; five children, Martena Parent, Carol Gothing, John Grover, infant Earl Grover, Jr. and Kerry Grover; three grandchildren, Lisa Bean Thurston, Tim Gothing and Peter Grover; four brothers, Nelson Rolfe, Marshall Rolfe, Harold Rolfe and Winfield Rolfe and a sister, Norma Jodrey.
Graveside services were held at Oakdale Cemetery, Scribner's Mills Rd., Bolster's Mills.
