Clora Baltz Banks, 95, of Independence, Mo., passed away Friday, Oct. 11, 2013, at 19015 E. 8th St. So. Independence, with support from NorthCare Hospice.

Memorial service will be held at 5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 19, at Wood Chapel Community of Christ, 500 N.E. Woods Chapel Road, Lee's Summit, MO 64064. Visitation will begin at 4 p.m. Burial in Warrensburg, Mo., at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be made to World Accord International Development Agency.

Clora was born Feb. 18, 1918, in Parsons, Kan. She was a teacher, receiving her masters degree in education in 1961. She later went on to complete a specialists degree in education in 1966 and 1967. She and Howard Continued to live and teach in Warrensburg. Clora was married to Howard Baltz from 1939-1980 when he preceded her in death. She continued to teach in Warrensburg until she retired in 1983 to marry John Banks and move to North Kansas City, where they were both active in education and church activities until John's passing in 2002. Clora has lived with son, David and wife, Carol, from 2002-2013 until her passing at home with NorthCare Hospice. She was also preceded in death by brothers, Harvey and Alfred, and step-son John Banks.

Survivors include a son, David Baltz and wife, Carol; daughter, Loree' Clark; step-daughter, Carolyn Ettenger and husband, David; step-daughter, Debbie Cimmenello and husband, Lou; 14 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.

She was greatly loved by her family and her many caregivers and will be missed, but so appreciated for her contributions. A special thanks to NorthCare Hospice.
