Clyde Edward Baker was born August 9, 1917 on a farm near Wayne to Frank and Margaret (Negley) Baker. He attended rural school in Wayne County. He served in The United States Military during World War II as an Army Engineer. Clyde married Inez Baier January 3, 1946 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Wayne. The couple retired from farming in 1984, moved into Wayne in 1991, and to Laurel Assisted Living in May of 2009. Clyde was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church and V.F.W. He enjoyed his farming and working outside in his yard, mowing and trimming even up to early last spring.

Clyde is survived by his wife, Inez, son, Randy (Barb) Baker of Omaha, daughter, Karen McDonald of Wayne, grandsons, Doug (Sue) Baker of Omaha, David (Melissa) Baker of Evans, GA, granddaughters, Cheri (Stan) Polenske and Cristy (Jason) Jorgensen all of Wayne, great-grandchildren, McKayleigh, Brooklynn, and RyAnna Polenske, Jaydyn and Jace Jorgensen, and Isabella Baker.

Clyde was preceded in death by his parents, son-in-law, "Curly" McDonald, two brothers, and four sisters.

Clyde's family appreciates your thoughts and kindness and invites you to lunch in the church fellowship hall following the committal service.
