Survivors include his wife (they married February 02, 1946)l a daughter of Canisteo; two (2) sons - one of Cocoa, Florida and the other of Arkport; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was 86 and lived in Hornell most of his life; he died at McAuley Manor. He was the son of Edgar and Eva Simms Kring. He was a graduate of Hornell High School, Class of 1942. He fought in World War II as part of the U.S. Army. He was awarded the American Service Medal, the World War II Victory Medal, and the European-African Middle Eastern Service Medal. He worked in the construction for many years. He worked for and retired from Alfred State College. He later worked maintenance at the former General Marble. He attended the Canisteo Wesleyan Church. He was a life member of the Corning V.F.W. as well as a life member of the Arkport American Legion, and a former member of the Hornell Moose Club.
