Obituary for Edwin Oswald
Edwin G. Oswald age 95, formerly of Manitowoc and a resident of Harmony of Two Rivers, died Thursday July 18, 2013 at Harmony of Two Rivers with his loving family at his side.
Edwin was born on November 16, 1917 in the Town of Franklin, son of the late Frank and Mary (Tienor) Oswald. He attended the Palm Grove School. On August 29, 1953 Edwin was married to the former Jeanette Rogala at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Manitowoc. The couple farmed in the Town of Kossuth until their retirement in 1988 and then they moved to Manitowoc. Edwin was extremely proud to be a dairy farmer. He was a life long member of St. Augustine Catholic Church in Reifs Mills, past president of the St. Augustine Cemetery Association and took great pride in maintaining the cemetery for many years. Edwin was a past board member of the Palm Grove School. He enjoyed playing cards and his accordion and was an avid bicyclist riding his bicycle until age 92.
Survivors include his wife, his five children and their spouses, 4 great grandchildren, two brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews other relatives and friends survive. He was preceded in death by his parents: Frank and Mary Oswald; infant daughter: Theresa Oswald; infant sister: Marcella Oswald; one brother and sister-in-law: Joseph (Irene) Oswald.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 22, 2013 at St. Augustine Catholic Church, Reifs Mills. The Rev. John Becker will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial with burial to follow in the parish cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at the church on Monday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. The Reinbold & Pfeffer Family Funeral Home of Kellnersville is serving the Oswald family.
