Geraldine Joyce Marvel, the daughter of Mary (Troska) and John Sharo, was born on January 16, 1933 in Whiting, Indiana. She grew up and attended St. John's Grade school and graduated from Clark High School both in Whiting.
She and Robert Marvel were married on June 14, 1952 at St. John's Baptist Church in Whiting. They moved to Wisconsin for a short while and settled in Warroad, MN in 1976. She was employed by Christian Brothers, and later, Marvin Windows and Doors from 1977 to 2001. After her husband Bob's death in 2001, she retired.
Geraldine was very active in St. Mary's Catholic Church, serving in many capacities. She loved to fish and spending time with Bob. She used to be a seamstress and worked on many projects at the St. Michael's Church in Indiana. The last few years, she has resided at the Warroad Care Center.
She passed away on April 16, 2007 at the age of 74.
She is survived by her children: Robert Marvel Jr. of Williams, MN, Denise (Phillip) Stodgell of Warroad, David Marvel of Detroit Lakes, MN and Kathleen Beaudry of Roseau, MN; grandchildren, Sean, Melissa, Nick, Phillip, Chase, Annemarie, Tristan, Nickolas, Joshua, Katie and Heath; great-grandchildren, Dominick, Connor and Hunter; and a sister, Jeannie Matura of Schereville, IN.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and husband, Bob in 2001.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, April 21, 2007 at 10 AM at the St. Mary's Catholic Church in Warroad. Visitation will be on Friday evening from 6-8 PM with a 7:30 prayer service at Helgeson Funeral Chapel in Warroad.
Interment will be at the St. Mary's Cemetery.
