Lou Enid (Jones) Goodwin, 87, of Cullowhee, NC, died Monday, October 3, 2005, at Mountain Trace Nursing Center in Sylva, NC.

Born October 21, 1917, in Spartanburg, she was the daughter of the late John Elias and Lou Ella (Wolfe) Jones and the wife of the late Dixon P. "D.P." Goodwin.

A graduate of Converse College, she was a retired teacher with Spartanburg School District 7 with thirty years of service, was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church of Spartanburg, a past member of the first African Violet Society of Spartanburg, and a past member of the S.C. Education Association.

Survivors include a son, Dixon J. Goodwin and his wife S. Jane of Gilbert, SC; and a niece, Kathleen L. White of Sylva, NC.

She was predeceased by a sister, Kathleen J. White, and was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Visitation was 11:30-12:30 p.m. Wednesday, October 5, 2005, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel.

Graveside services followed at 1:00 p.m. at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, conducted by the Rev. T. Lee Bryant, Jr.
