Evelyn Louise Koerner, 83, of Albany peacefully died on Monday, surrounded by her family.

She was born in Sherburn, Minn., and married Elmer in March 1951. They were blessed with 54 years of marriage before he passed away in 2005. They moved their family to the Willamette Valley from Minnesota in 1962.

Evelyn's love for people was evident in how she lived. She was a diligent hard worker and always helped in any way she could. Family time was treasured, and she poured her heart into cooking for and feeding the ones she loved. A member of the Assemblies of God church, Evelyn prayed and faithfully attended church, modeling a beautiful relationship with God.

Survivors include her children and their spouses, Dennis and Nancy, Terry and Sharon Gleason, Jerry and Tricia, Lowell and Pam, Ron and Kari Tentschert, Dan, Ross and Debie, Keith and Karen, and Jeff and Judy; 38 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and siblings Robert Johnson, Lois Johnson, Karen Kuhnau and Joyce Raatz.

A memorial service will take place at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 19, at First Assembly of God, 2817 Santiam Highway, Albany, OR 97322. A potluck reception will follow in the Youth Center.
