Born in Rabun County, he was a son of the late Emanuel and Jane Ledford Alexander. He was a retired farmer and a member of Blue Heights Baptist Church, where he served as deacon for 45 years and Sunday School superintendent. He was a member of Mountain City city council.
Survivors include two sons, Alvin Emanuel Alexander of Clarksville and John P. Alexander of Macon; Three daughters, Mrs.Lou Belle Dotson, Mrs Mildred Donaldson, and Mrs. Susan Taylor all of Mountain City, GA; 19 grandchildren and 53 great-grandchildren;
The funeral was Sunday at 2:00 PM, at Blue Heights Baptist Church with the Rev. Fred Young, the Rev.Gene Batson, the Rev. John Hutchinson and the Rev. Madison McCrackin officiating.
Burial was in Rabun Memory Park near Tiger,GA.
