She was born in Roane County, a daughter of the late Walter E. and Odie Lela Youst Childers. She was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church, where she taught the Gleaners Sunday School class for 50 years. She sang in the Chancel Choir, and was a member of the Mary Jean Gano Circle of the church. She was a retired nurses' aide from St. Joseph's Hospital, and was a former employee of the American Viscose Corp.
She is survived by one daughter and two grandchildren of Marion, Ind.; two great grandchildren; three sisters, Lena Martin of Columbus, Sylvia Hanlon of Parkersburg and Marguerite Bradley of Charleston.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Morris; one daughter, Barbara Lee Harrison; one brother Wilford Childers; and one sister, Virginia Foggin.
Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at Emmanuel Baptist Church, with the Rev. William (unreadable) and Rev. John W. Keck officiating. Burial will be in Murdoch Avenue Memorial Gardens.
Friends may call at Kimes Funeral Home from 7-9 p.m. today, 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Sunday and at the church one hour prior to the service.
