Voorheesville - Edward ("Ned") V. Stanton, Jr., 69, of Oak Ct. passed away Wednesday, January 23, 2013 at his home. Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Edward V. and Marcia Seury Stanton. Ned was a graduate of Niagara University and worked for New York State for 38 years, primarily at the New York State Higher Education Assistance Corporation, before retiring in 2003. He was a past member of the Voorheesville Area Ambulance, the Voorheesville Planning Commission and was a Little League coach. Ned was the husband of Sharon Bleadow Stanton; father of Scott Stanton (Julie) of Atlanta, GA and Michael Stanton (Lauren) of Massapequa, NY; grandfather of Avery Stanton; brother of Claire Miller (William) of Schodack and Pat Duncker (Gene) of Lancaster, CA; and uncle of David Miller, Kaitlyn Fazioli (Joe), Tovah Goldfarb, Benjamin Goldfarb, Ann Hughes (Nate) and Paul Bleadow. He is also survived by a large extended family. Ned also was the proud owner of Nicky and Molly, his beloved pups, who were by his side when he passed. Friends are invited to visit with Ned's family on Saturday, January 26, 2013 from 3 - 7 p.m. at the Reilly & Son Funeral Home, Voorheesville. In lieu of flowers, his family requests that memorial contributions be made to the American Melanoma Society, 4150 Regents Park Row, Suite 300, La Jolla, CA
