MICHAEL C. GEISER

Michael C. Geiser, age 60, of W. 1402 Garton Rd., Sheboygan, died doing what he loved on Saturday afternoon, Feb. 12, 2000 at Dickenson County Hospital, Iron Mountain, Mich. He was born Jan. 5, 1940 in the Town of Chilton, Calumet County, son of Celestine Wagner Geiser and the late Gregory Geiser. He was a 1958 graduate of Chilton High School. On Nov. 16, 1963 he married Shirley Weller at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Chilton. Mike was a machinist at Kohler Co. for the past 33 years. He enjoyed spending time at his cabin in Athelstane, Wis., snowmobiling and playing sheepshead with his friends.
He was vice president of the Near North SnoMo Club in Athelstane, Kohler Quarter Century Club, past member of the Lakeshore Driftbuster Snowmobile Club in Howards Gove and volunteered many hours for the snowmobile club.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley; his mother, Celestine Geiser of Chilton; one son, Jeffrey (Jane) Geiser of Kiel and one daughter, Deborah Steffen and friend Keith Merten of Kiel. He is also survived by five grandchildren, David, Jeff (JJ) Vogel, Brett Cassidy (CJ) and Kendra Steffen; three brothers, Harold (June) Geiser of Green Valley, Rev. Allen Geiser of Greenleaf, Donald (Mary Beth) Geiser of Chilton; two sisters, LaVerne (Marty) Schmidt of Chilton and Janice Gary of Stevens Point. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and many friends. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Julie Geiser (1985); one brother-in-law and one sister-in-law.
A concelebrated funeral Mass will be at 7 pm Thursday, Feb. 17, 2000 at Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Kiel with the Rev. Loren Nys, S.D.S. and the Rev. Allen Geiser, his brother, officiating. Private burial services will be on Friday. Friends may call at the Meiselwitz-Vollstedt Funeral Home, 815 Sixth St., in Kiel on Thursday from 3 pm until 6:30 pm when brief family rites will be held. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established for the Wausaukee and Pembine Rescue Squads and the Near North SnoMo Club.
