Frances Idella Adams, 77, wife of the late Arthur Eugene Adams, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 17, 2007.

Mrs. Adams, born and raised in Columbus, Ga., was the daughter of the late Hosie Dalton "Doc" Farmer and Oveta Kite Farmer. She graduated from Columbus' Baker Village High School in 1946. She was first and foremost a dedicated mother to her children and grandchildren. She worked as a civil servant and later in life became a nurse's aide. In her final years, she resided at Magnolia Place Nursing Home. She enjoyed visiting and praying with her friends there each day. She was a member of Holy Cross Episcopal Church in Simpsonville.

She is survived by a sister, Joyce Huguley of Union, Mich.; two daughters, Frances Elaine Wilson of Simpsonville and Valerie Adams McKinney of Fountain Inn; and two sons, Robert Dean Adams of Mauldin and Michael Eugene Adams of Fountain Inn. Her grandchildren are Kerry W. Wood, Ivy Wilson, Adam Wilson, Sarah McKinney, Rebekah McKinney, Dalton Kathleen Adams, Betsy Adams and Glenn Adams. Her great-grandchildren are Jasmine Wood, Drew Wood and Maddy Wood.

A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held Tuesday, March 20 at 10 a.m. at Holy Cross Episcopal Church. Interment will follow at the Holy Cross Memorial Garden. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Holy Cross Episcopal Church Building Fund. Cannon Funerals and Cremations of Simpsonville is serving the family.
