HELEN KATHRYN ANSORGE

Helen K. Ansorge (Holmes), age 93, formerly of 1826 Michigan Ave., died on
Tuesday morning, Feb. 8, 2011, at the Manitowoc Health and Rehabilitation
Center.
Helen was born on March 23, 1917, in Two Rivers, daughter of the late David
and Eliza (Worley) Holmes. She graduated from Washington High School in Two
Rivers with the class of 1936. On March 14, 1945, she married Herbert A.
Ansorge of Manitowoc in Maywood, Ill. He preceded her in death on April 18,
2008.
Throughout her life, Helen was involved in many activities. She was a member
of Eastern Star in Manitowoc and was Worthy Matron and state representative
during some of those years. She was a Brownie and Girl Scout leader, a member
of the Wesley Methodist Women's Circle, group leader for the Methodist Youth
Fellowship and paticipated in the Meals on Wheels Program.
Helen found great enjoyment in reading, poetry, hunting, fishing, cooking and
baking. She not only loved collecting dolls but excelled in making them as
well and donated many of her creation to various organizations. She worked at
Schuette Bros. Department Store and as a nurse's aide at Park Lawn. She loved
her husband, her four children, eight grandchildren and eleven great-grand-
children more than life itself and we all loved her.
Survivors include four children. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends
also survive. She was preceded in death by her husband: Herbert Ansorge; her
parents: David and Eliza Holmes; two grandsons: Greg Gutman and John Gutman;
and eight brothers and sisters.
A private memorial service will be held for the immediate family in spring.
The Jens Family Funeral Home and Crematory is assisting the Ansorge Family.
The family of Helen K. Ansorge would like to thank the staff at the Manitowoc
Health and Rehabilitation Center and the staff of Manitowoc Homecare Health
and Hospice for the excellent care and comfort given to our mother and the
thoughtfulness and care extended to our family at this difficult time.
