Valerie "Tita" Staley, 89, of Waco, passed away Friday, October 18, 2013, in a local care center. Graveside services will be at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, October 22, at Oakwood Cemetery with Bruce Mercer officiating. Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, October 21, at Oakcrest Funeral Home.

Valerie Gaynell was born in Erath County, Texas to the late Tom and Treasure Ammeman Cannon. She married Steve Staley on June 20, 1959. She worked for General Tire, and later retired from Sears.

Valerie was preceded in death by her husband, Steve; and brothers, M.D., Roger, Thomas, and Wallace "Boy" Cannon.

She is survived by her sister, Olga "Doll" Smith; and several nieces and nephews.
