~MARY J. DUVALL, 62, a 28-year resident of Bullhead City, Ariz. passed away peacefully at home with her family at her side on Saturday, October 12, 2013 after a long and painful battle with cancer. She was born at Holy Family Hospital on February 10, 1951 in Manitowoc, Wis. to Nobia and Clarence Krejcarek.
Mary graduated from Lincoln High School in Manitowoc, Wis., class of 1969. She married Jerry Duvall on July 10, 1971 in a loving ceremony at St. Luke Catholic Church in Two Rivers, Wis. and worked as a nurse aide for many years in the Hamilton Home in Two Rivers, taking care of the elderly and sick.
~Mary and Jerry moved to Bullhead City in July 1985 and she started her career as an Accounts Payable Supervisor at the Golden Nugget Hotel and Casino in Laughlin where she worked for 22 years. Mary achieved "Employee of the Month" in 1998 and also received many recognitions for the great and valuable work she performed at the Golden Nugget Laughlin.
~Mary was proud to be a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of VFW Post 10005. She was also a member of St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church where she was an active volunteer serving on the Altar Guild, as an Extraordinary Minister of Communion and as a money-counter.
Mary was preceded in death by two children at birth, Lori and Jason Duvall; parents, Clarence and Nobi Krejcarek; and two sisters, Carol Schwoere and Helen Jindra.
~Mary is survived by her husband, Gerald "Jerry" Duvall; son, Jeremy Duvall and grandson, Joseph Chandler Duvall of Bullhead City; sisters, Linda Gallenberger and Susan Verrett; brothers, Michael Krejcarek and Wayne Krejcarek.
So much can be said about our Mary. What a wonderful, special, generous, compassionate, loving, courageous person. She always put everyone before herself. In many ways, she touched everyone she met. Goodness, that is what she saw in everyone. Her family was her greatest asset – Jerry, Jeremy, Joseph, Sue, Bruce, Renee, Adam and the rest of her family back in Wisconsin. Father Peter and all of her many friends were so important to her.
She fought so long and hard with courage, strength, strong will and determination. Many days during the treatments she probably felt like giving up – but no, she continued to fight. But battles do end and at that time. Mary had to make some difficult decisions - fight no more – finally she waved the white flag to surrender – not to cancer but to her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Mary is now in Heaven next to God, free of all the pain and suffering she endured.
~The Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 18, 2013 preceded by a Rosary at 10:30 a.m. at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church in Bullhead City officiated by Fr. Peter Dobrowski. Immediately following the Mass, all are welcome to join for a reception at the St. Margaret Mary Parish Hall adjacent to the church.
