Barney Kowalewski, 79, of 1126 S. 25th St., Manitowoc, died Monday at the family residence. Funeral services will be at 10 am Wednesday at Pfeffer Funeral Home and 10:30 am at St. Mary Catholic Church, Manitowoc. The Rev. Thaddeus J. Koszarek will officiate with burial in St. Mary Cemetery, Manitowoc.

Mr. Kowalewski was born April 15, 1895 at Fencher, Wis., son of the late Joseph and Katie Iczek Kowalewski, moving to Manitowoc in 1916. He married Clara M. Glysch Oct. 22, 1918. He was employed at Manitowoc Shipbuildiing Inc., from 1916 to 1960 when he retired.

Survivors include his wife, a daughter, Mrs. Ray (Florence) Carstens, of Manitowoc; a sister, Mrs. Liddie Mayek of Palonia; four grandchildren and four great grandchildren. A son, a daughter, two brothers and two sisters preceded him in death.

Friends may call at Pfeffer Funeral Home from 4 to 9 o'clock this Tuesday evening, where the Rosary will be recited at 7 o'clock.
