On October 12, 2013 God saw that Ethel Lea Hinton was tired and called her home after a short illness at Our lady of the Lake Hospital, Baton Rouge.
She was born in Delta, La. on January 7, 1928 to George A, and Dottie Curry Hargrove and was a resident of Ferriday, LA. for 44 Years.
She was an active 85 year old Church member of Westside Baptist Church, a former Bell South telephone operator, and a Riverland Hospital CNA.
But the most important role of all she held was Mama, Mom, MawMaw Little Maw Maw, and Lake Maw Maw to her children, grandchildren and great- grandchildren.
She had a special love for her family, friends, and church members, loved to play dominos, and catch phrase, and she loved to travel so she was always ready to go when she was asked; loved spending time with her family and friends and will be missed terribly by all who knew her and loved her.
Visitation will be held at Westside Baptist Church, Ferriday, on Tuesday October 15, 2013 from 5pm till 8pm Wednesday service time at 10am with Rev. Larry Wagoner officiating.

Interment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Cemetery at 3pm under the direction of Comer Funeral Home Ferriday.

Ethel is survived by her sister , Maxine Taylor, Sumpter, SC; her four children Douglas Hinton and wife Amanda of Monroe, LA.; Debra Smith and husband Bryan of Jacksonville, Florida; Jennifer Bradley and husband Donald of Zachary, LA. and Gary Hinton of Ferriday, LA.;
