Mrs. McDowell, of St. Louis, died in Brunswick, on Tuesday night. She passed up Sunday, on the "Edinburg," in company with her husband, who was to deliver an Address in Brunswick yesterday. Her disease was cholera. The "Golden State", down yesterday, had her corpse on board.

Amanda Virginia "Mandy" Drake was born on March 7, 1809 to Isaac Drake and Elizabeth Shotwell.
On March 27, 1827, Mandy married Dr. Joseph Nash McDowell. He was born on April 1, 1805 in Lexington, Fayette, KY to Major John McDowell (of the American Revolution) and Lucy Nash Le Grand.
Mandy died on July 3, 1855 in Brunswick, Claritin, MO. Her body was oringally buried in an unknown location and then was moved to the McDowell Family Plot in Bellefontaine Cemetery on July 2, 1868 when the family plot was bought and established.
Joseph and Amanda had the following children:
Lucy Nash McDowell born on September 10, 1839 in Cincinnati, Ohio and died on August 1, 1831.
Dr. Isaac Drake McDowell was born in 1830 in Cincinnati, Ohio and died on January 5, 1882 in Hot Springs, AR. He married Mary La Forge on November 26, 1862 in New Madrid, MO. She was born on Feb 24, 1838 and died on February 17, 1920.
Dr. Jonathan James "John" McDowell in February 6, 1834 in Lexington, KY and died on March 27, 1880 in Hot Springs, AR.
Dr. Charles Nash McDowell was born in 1841. He married Mary E. Martin on Oct 30, 1874 in St. Louis, MO.
Amanda F. McDowell was born around 1843 and died around 1857 when she was 14 years old. Her body was originally in the Mark Twain Cave, then buried in an unknown location and then moved to Bellefontaine Cemetery on July 2, 1868.
Anna Wader McDowell was born in 1847 and died on March 11, 1875. She married William Kearney Speed on June 8, 1866 in St. Louis, MO. He was born on March 4, 1838 and died on October 28, 1869.
Joseph Nash McDowell was born in 1856. His body was moved to the Bellefontaine Cemetery on July 2, 1867.
Dr. Joseph Nash McDowelll and Amanda Virginia Drake also had Benjamin D. McDowell, Josephine McDowell, Mary McDowell, who all died in infancy are were later moved to the family plot.
After Mandy's death, Dr. Joseph Nash McDowell married Sarah E. Mack on June 20, 1858 in St. Louis, MO
