Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday in Hems Bros. Mortuary chapel in El Centro for William "Dub" Hefner, 88, of Holtville, who died Monday in La Mesa Rehabilitation Center in Yuma.

Graveside services will be at 9 a.m. Friday in Terrace Park Cemetery in Holtville. The Rev. Michael Beach of First Baptist Church of El Centro will officiate.

Mr. Hefner was born Sept. 25, 1915, in Greenville, Texas.

He worked in his early years in the farm fields and for the city of Holtville. He later owned and operated his own business and retired from the Riverside County Sheriff's Department.

Survivors include his wife, Jean Hefner of Yuma; brothers, Charles Hefner of Cortez, Colo., Walter Hefner of Holtville and Sparkie Hefner of Cimarron, Kan.; sisters, Dortha Cradic of Concrete, Wash., and Maureen Bosse of Denver; daughters, Ruth Owens of Oakhurst, Patricia Gallo of Blythe, Chylea Hall of Morongo Valley and Pamela Brommell of Reno, Nev.; son, Danny Hefner of Blythe; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
