Stationed at Rockcliffe, Ontario, J/3256 Pilot Officer R.B. Aitken lost his life when the Lysander aircraft (#432), which he was piloting, crashed near Cardinal, Ontario. His air gunner/observer, Sergeant Howard Winfield CHASE, also perished in the accident.
