Antonio G. Mendez, age 80 of 1017 South 19th St, Manitowoc died on Thursday morning, December 13, 2012 at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center, Manitowoc.
He was born on September 24, 1932 in Uland, TX, son of the late Manuel and Lupe (Gomez) Mendez. On June 9, 1951 he married Juanita Perales in San Antonio, TX. The two of them later moved to Manitowoc and Antonio was employed as a millwright with the Mirro Corp until his retirement.
Survivors include his wife: Juanita, Manitowoc; two sons and one daughter-in-law: Tony Mendez, Manitowoc, Robert and Kathleen Mendez, San Jose, CA; three daughters and one son-in-law: Adelina Enke-Onsrud, and her husband: Burt Onsrud, Madison, Sandra Mendez and special friend: Lenny Johnson, Madison, Gloria and Steve Dickman, Stoughton; six grandchildren: Bianca (Kevin) Reisner, Christopher Mendez, Tanya (Jason) Terp, Andreas Enke, Eileen Lamm, Angela (Marcus) Arambula; six great-grandchildren; two brothers and one sister-in-law: Victor and Elvira Mendez, Manuel Mendez; four sisters: Elida Nerio, Alicia Contreraus, Olivia Gilbert, Rosa and Gilbert Nino, all of San Antonio, TX. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. He was also preceded in death by his mother: Veva Mendez.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM on Monday, December 17, 2012 at the Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc. Officiating at the service will be Rev. William Van Dynhoven with burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
The family will greet relatives and friends at the Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc on Monday, December 17, 2012 from 10:30 AM until 11:45 AM.
