Patricia Wolfe Davis Died peacefully, at age 68, in her Tucson home on April 30, 2007. She was born October 15, 1938 in Milwaukee, Wl. She attended Wauwatosa High School and graduated from the University of Wisconsin in the class of 1960. After college she began her professional career working at Time-Life's magazine and book fulfillment center in Chicago, IL where she advanced to the position of senior computer programmer. It was in Chicago where she met Baird, her husband of 39 years. Shortly after the birth of their son Mark, the family moved to the San Diego area. Several years later the family moved across the country to Darien, CT where they would reside for the next 22 years. During this time Pat was employed in the travel industry, allowing her to focus on her passion for travel and affording her the opportunity to tour the world. She always devoted valuable time for her family, friends and charitable work through the PEOs. In addition she maintained an active involvement with her sorority, Pi Beta Phi, from which she received the national Evelyn Peters Kyle award and was most recently recognized as a 50-year member. In 1998, Pat was eager to begin her retirement in Tucson. She was enamored by the rich culture of the area, the subtle beauty of the desert, and its abundant wildlife. She even welcomed the piercing summer heat because it brought the monsoon inspired lightning, which she enjoyed watching as it moved across the summer sky. Her time for travel and enjoyment of the beauty of the Southwest was somewhat impeded by the complications of ovarian cancer. She battled the disease like everything else she did in her life with determination, respect for others and above all a positive attitude. She leaves behind her husband, Baird; their son, Mark and his wife, Anne; the inspiration of her later years, grandson, Jacques; and her sister, Virginia Wolfe. There will be a memorial service held in her honor at St. Philips in the Hills Episcopal Church in Tucson at 2:00 p.m. on May 14th. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Pat may be made to the Arizona Cancer Center in support of research focusing on the early detection and treatment of ovarian cancer.
