Dennis Wade Madson, 48, of Auburn, Washington, formerly of Blackfoot, Idaho, passed away October 10, 2013 of a sudden illness.

He was born October 21, 1964 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Edward and Danielle Madson. He was raised and attended school in Blackfoot where he excelled in many sports, especially baseball.

After high school, he worked for Robinson Roofing until he found that exercising race horses was what was in his blood. His parents had the same love for the track, so wherever you found them, Dennis was right behind working with the horses. He had his first pony at a very young age that he would spend a lot of his days riding around the pasture.

This love and the thrill of horse racing was his ultimate dream. From sun up till sun down, that's where he would be. He trained in Idaho, and Washington where he made his home. He worked at Emerald Downs for many years. Dennis was always a very quiet person with a big heart. He always said his pets were his children.

Dennis is survived by two sisters, Shawna (Wade) Armstrong of Pocatello and Sherri (Douglas) Rupe of Blackfoot, one brother, Danny Madson of Idaho Falls. He was also survived by many numerous nieces and nephews, uncles, aunts and cousins who adored him very much.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Danielle Madson, and a grand niece, Hannah Covington.

A memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 2, 2013 at Hawker Funeral Home, 132 S. Shilling Ave., Blackfoot, Idaho.

The family will meet with friends for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
