Mr. Bishop was a graduate of Baylor Medical University and was a Baptist. He was retired as an orthopedic surgeon in Phoenix and was the co-owner of Jones Curb Market in Gulfport.
Survivors include his wife, Lois O. Jones Bishop of McHenry; a son, Billy Bishop of Flagstaff, Ariz.; two stepsons, Larry Jones Sr. of McHenry and Billy Jones of Perkinston; two stepdaughters, Elaine Colby of McHenry and Sue Rigdon of Ocean Springs; two sisters, Loveda Hewett of Kingsville, Texas and J'Netta Keith of Cleburne, Texas; 11 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at McHenry Oaklawn Cemetery. Moore Funeral Home in Wiggins is in charge of arrangements.
