Betty Jo Bates passed away on the morning of October 6, 2006. She was born on December 28, 1925 to Jesse and Edith Winslow in Olympia, Washington and was preceded in death by her husband, Richard, on September 11, 2006. They were married for 60 happy years. She is survived by her children, Patricia Dustin, Michael Bates, and Dennis Bates; her grandchildren, Amy Clifford, Kimberly Denise Beadle, Michelle Paulson, Kerry Anne Davidson, Damian Bates, and Amanda Bates; and seven great- grandchildren. Because of her loving nature, the family home knew no stranger, and over the years the extended family continued to grow. Neither a bad meal nor a harsh word were likely to be served. Not only were you my Gram, but you were my best friend. Thank you for always believing in me. I love you with all my heart and I miss you so very much. -- Neesy (Kimberly) Thank you, Gramma, for loving me no matter what. I know my secrets are still safe with you. I love you. -- Michelle Gramma, I hope you always knew how dear you were to me because you let me know how dear I was to you.
