Keyes, Florence Forwood, 96, a longtime resident of Middletown, KY, passed away peacefully Monday morning, June 13, 2011 at the Greenfield Retirement Center in Oak Ridge, TN. She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Dr. James K. Keyes, who practiced family dentistry from their home office for more than 50 years. They were members of the Middletown United Methodist Church from 1936 when they were married and moved to Middletown. Church activities were very important to her, working with children and later teaching adult Sunday school classes. She is survived by: sons, James K. Keyes, of Jeffersontown, KY and Jerry E. Keyes and his wife Carole, of Clinton, TN; grandchildren, David Keyes and his wife Traci, of Frederick, MD, Rebecca Litzelswope and her husband David, of Middletown, KY, Edward Keyes of Mountain View, CA and Dr. Jeffrey Keyes and his wife Jamie, of Los Angeles, CA; and great-grandchildren, Olivia and Julia Keyes of Frederick, MD. Family will receive friends 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at Pearson-Ratterman Funeral Home, Middletown. Funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. officiated by Rev. Buddy Coleman. Burial will be private. Florence had requested that remembrances be sent to the Middletown United Methodist Church.
