William Randolph Byrd (1888-1963), 73, Hastings, died at his home unexpectedly last night resulting from a heart attack. Mr. Byrd was a native of Hastings and was a farmer. He was a member of the Hastings Baptist Church and the Lions Club.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Ada Carter Byrd, Hastings; one daughter, Mrs. Evelyn Mitchell, St. Augustine; three sons, Earl Byrd, Elkton, Milton Byrd, Palatka, and Norman Byrd, Hastings; four sisters, Mrs. Pearl O’Donnell, Asheville, N.C,, Miss Eva Byrd, Neptune Beach, Mrs. Gladys Mullis, Atlantic Beach; and Mrs. Margaret Sheider, Sea Island, Ga.; and 11 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the First Baptist Church in Hastings. Craig Funeral Home, St. Augustine, is in charge of arrangements. (Palatka Daily News Obituary dtd Friday, 25 Oct 1963.)
