Carl Evans Abramson died Oct. 11, 2013 at Baylor hospital after a long valiant battle with several medical problems. He was born in Greenville, Texas, the son of Meyer and Ida Abramson; his maternal grandparents were among the first Jewish settlers in the Oklahoma territory.
Carl grew up in Ft. Worth and graduated from Paschal High School. He is a graduate of The University of Texas and the law school of Texas University. After the death of his father, Carl was the manager and President of the firm, Southland Beauty Supply, established in 1939. When the business was sold, Carl fulfilled is duties in the U.S. Army, Judge Advocate division. He was stationed in Heidleberg, Germany and served in NATO Headquarters, Paris, France. At that time, Carl learned French, German, Spanish and Hebrew. He was a voracious reader and fascinating raconteur. He had a photographic memory and enjoyed reviewing historic events which interested him and his friends. He attended the Sorbonne in Paris where he studied British military intelligence work and French resistance during WWII. He studied legal aspects of the Holocaust at Yad Vashem in Jerusalem, Israel. He was a staunch supporter of Israel. He said it reminded him of his beloved Texas. He was a most humane and fascinating man.
He was a loving and loyal son, brother and uncle. He admired and enjoyed close friends. His many cousins will miss him too. He is survived by his sister, Norma Jo Apt and his nephew William "Billy" Apt and many cousins.

Carl will be buried in the family plot, Ft. Worth, Texas on Monday 11:00 a.m. at Ahavath Shalom Cemetery.
