Donald was born May 3, 1932 to the late Orion S. Taylor and Bess Rose Taylor in Mammoth Spring, Arkansas. He attended Mammoth Spring School where he graduated in 1951.
On June 20, 1953, Donald and Sybil Hamm were united in marriage at the Methodist parsonage in Mammoth Spring, Arkansas.
Don and Sybil are parents of three children; Connie Lee Taylor (Peace), Donald Timothy Taylor and Shari Sybil Taylor (Moudy), deceased. Don was especially blessed to be ‘Papa Don' to his two grandchildren, Christopher M. Moudy and Taylor Ashlee Peace.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, James Dale Taylor; one sister, Cathlene Taylor Autry and one daughter, Shari S. Moudy.
Four wonderful friends helped his wife keep him comfortable and feeling loved at home for the last six years of his life. They are Sherrie Thomas, Jan Huntly, Susan Pinkley and Ann Haggard.
Don was a hunter; fisherman; motorcyclist; pilot; traveler; trucker and he retired as a supervisor at Leggett and Platt. He was a firm but fair father to his children and a helpmate to his wife in all her endeavors.
Don and Sybil attended the Carthage United Methodist Church during their fifty-five years in Carthage.
Memorial services are planned for Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. at Carthage United Methodist Church. James Lee, pastor, will officiate. The family will receive friends following the services at the church.
His cremains will be placed in the family plot in Park Cemetery at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
