William 'Bill' C. Helton 57; of Jeffersonville

Funeral services for William "Bill" C. Helton, 57, of Jeffersonville, will be at 12:30 p.m. Thursday, May 26, at First Baptist Church, Jeffersonville. He died Monday, May 23, 2011, at his home.

He was born in Louisville and graduated from Western Kentucky University. He worked for more than 35 years as a Butternut route salesman and was a member and deacon at First Baptist Church. He loved watching University of Kentucky basketball, reading, working puzzles and sharing jokes with his friends. His love for Christ was an example to many.

He is survived by his loving wife, LaVergne Helton; three daughters, Jessica Helton, of Louisville, Jillian Fritz and her husband, Gabgriel, of Louisville, and Jennifer Ritchard and her husband, Kenneth, of Pewee Valley, Ky.; two grandchildren, Allison and Jacob Ritchard, of Pewee Valley, Ky.; his parents, Carroll and Margaret Helton, of Louisville; a brother, Leslie Helton and his wife, Bonnie, of Louisville; two nieces, Melissa and Mary; one nephew, Michael; and several great nieces and great nephews.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today, at Scott Funeral Home's North Chapel, Jeffersonville and from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Thursday, at the church.

Memorial contributions can be made to First Baptist Church Building Fund. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
