Obituary

   James William Beard was born in Adair county, Kentucky, on January 8th, 1856; departed from this life at 1: o'clock a.m., August 1, 1911, at his home near Garber, Oklahoma, at the age of 55 years, 6 months, and 23 days. He is survived by his wife, one son, Kirk, age 15 years; two brothers, Bryant and Thomas Beard; and two sisters.
   He united with the Church of Christ early in life, lived consistent Christian life until the call came and died in the faith and once for all delivered to the Saints.
   The funeral services were held at 2:00 o'clock p.m. Tuesday at the Christian church. Rev. Horne delived the sermon. The obsequies were attended by many friends and neighbors as the deceased was a pioneer settler of this section.
