Charles Marshall Alcorn, 68 of Georgetown, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2013 at the University of Kentucky in Lexington while surrounded by his family.

Charles was born May 2, 1945 in Scott County to Raymond Alcorn and Cora Cook Alcorn, the oldest of six children.

Charles was a kind and loving man with a great sense of humor. He loved spending time with his family and enjoyed fishing with his best friend Mike ‘Chase' Gillespie. Friends and family that knew him would say he had the character of a kid, and that he was easy going, very easy to embarrass, somewhat stubborn, and he was all about his Family. Charles was employed most of his life as a truck driver but was also a skilled carpenter. He enjoyed putting those skills to use on the many horse farms he worked on during his lifetime. He was a true country boy at heart and was the kind of person to give his last to help a family member or friend in need.

Charles is survived by his sons Jerry Alcorn of Georgetown and Owen (Salena) Alcorn of Richmond; grandchildren, Mia Alcorn, Christina Alcorn, Kaylee Wright, Brayden Alcorn, Markeese Dean and Javontae Dean; brothers, Johnny (Linda) Alcorn and Arnold (Goldie) Alcorn; sisters, Janice Canafax and Blance Canafax; numerous nieces and nephews; and many other friends and family, all of which will miss him deeply.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Cora Alcorn.
