Desiree I. Absalon, 3, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Durwood Absalon, Hailesboro, will be held today (Wednesday) at 1 P.M. at Sprague funeral home with Very Rev. Msgr. Robert J. McCarthy, pastor of St. James Church, officiating. Burial will be in the new St. James cemetery.
The child died at 7:40 P.M. June 8 in Mercy Hospital where she had been a patient since June 5. She was afflicted with leukemia and had been hospitalized in Syracuse. She had been ill since October 1969.
Surviving are her parents; one sister, Marie, 4; her maternal grandmother, Mrs. Genevieve Papineau, Hailesboro; and her paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. John Absalon, Sr., Hailesboro.
She was born in Gouverneur Feb. 8, 1967, daughter of Durwood and Rita Papineau Absalon.
