Alto Pass, Ill., Aug. 2-The body of Verna Wilson, 24, wife of Walter Wilson of Wolf Lake, who died at the Hale Willard hospital in Anna Sunday from a congestive chili was brought here from Wolf Lake and laid to rest in the Alto Pass cemetery. Funeral services were conducted at the First M. E. church in Wolf Lake. Mrs. Wilson was the daughter of Willis Rhodes, a farmer near Wolf Lake.

Mrs. Verna Wilson, beloved wife of Walter Wilson passed away at their home in Wolf Lake, Ill., July 29, 1928, aged 24 years, 3 months and 7 days. Her going was a shock to her loved ones and friends, for she was ill only two days. She was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Willis Rhodes of near Alto Pass, and was united in marriage to John Walter Wilson five years ago and they were happy together. To them was born one son, John Walter Jr., now three years old. She was an excellent woman, a devoted wife and mother, a lover of home and had many friends. She leaves to mourn her departure her husband and little son, her father (her mother having passed away two years ago;) three brothers, Lewis R. Rhodes of Murphysboro, Herbert E. of Raddle, and Luther R. of Chester; also three sisters, Mrs. Elsie Dover, Mrs. Edyth Foster and Miss Helen Rhodes, all of Wolf Lake, with many other relatives and friends. Funeral services were conducted in the Methodist church at Wolf Lake Tuesday afternoon by Rev. W. J. Ward of Jonesboro and Rev. Henry, pastor of that church, and the body laid to rest beside her mother in the Alto Pass cemetery.

She leaves a husband: 1 child 3 years old, 2 sisters, 2 brothers and a father. She was a daughter of Willis J. Rhodes of Alto Pass, her mother having died several years ago. Death resulting from blood poisoning.
