Martha Lee Brown
Martha Lee Brown was born on June 7, 1910 in Farmville, Va. to the late Archie and Irish Wright. She was the 3rd born of her 10 siblings.
She was educated in the Farmville, Va. public school system. Martha accepted Christ at a very early age. She was baptized at the Mt. Nebo Baptist Church in Farmville, Va. before coming to Baltimore, Maryland.
She met and was wedded in 1937 to the late Willian L. Brown. From this union they raised four childern, Alberta Carter of Baltimore Md., and Leon Brown of Riverside, Ca., the late Mary Jane Rose, and Annie Ruth Wright preceded her in death. They all brought such great joy and pleasure to her life.
Martha was a very kind, gentle and affectionate person who just loved everyone and everyone gave her so much love and respect back to the utmost. She was affectionately known to all as Mom Mom and Big Momma.
She was called home in a " Newness of Life " after a brief illness on August 15, 2002.
She leaves to cherish her memory her two childern Alberta Carter and Leon Brown, two son-in-laws James Carter and Gordon Rose, one daughter-in-law Yolanda Brown, twelve grandchildern, sixteen great grand childern, one great great grandchild, three sisters Bertha Hunter of NY, Linda Tyler of Baltimore, Md., and Edna Johnson of Hyattsville, Md. one brother-in-law, Luther Tyler of Baltimore and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services were held at Memorial Baptist Church on August 21, 2002. Interment in Dulaney Valley Memorial Gardens in the Eternal Light section.
