RALEIGH -- Lee Hardee Morgenstern, 93, passed away on May 24, 2008 at Sunnybrook Convalescent Home in Raleigh.
She was born April 25, 1915 to Joseph and Blanche Parker Hardee of Harnett County.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George E. Morgenstern, sisters, Novie Hardee and Cleo H. Kana, and brothers, Joseph, Alton, and Jay Hale Hardee.
She attended Raleigh Public Schools and Hardbargers Business School. She lived much of her life in High Point, where she worked for Harris Covington Hosiery as private secretary to the owner. She and her husband retired to Florida in the 1960s. Lee returned to Raleigh after his death 20 years ago. Until her health declined, she was an active member of North Raleigh United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her sister-inlaw, Fannie Hardee of Raleigh; two nephews, Joe Hardee, Jr. of Raleigh and Robert C Hardee, Sr. and wife, Susan of Zebulon; three greatnephews, Rob Hardee and wife, Emily of Raleigh, Michael Hardee of Zebulon, and Christopher Hardee in Iraq.

Funeral service will be at Brown Wynne Funeral Home, 1701 E. Millbrook Road, Raleigh, at 3 o'clock Monday, May 26, 2008 with visitation at 2:00 p.m. prior to the service. There will be a private burial at Guilford Memorial Park, Greensboro, on Tuesday.
