James Edward Inman, Sr., 81, of Martinsville, VA died on Thursday, October 10, 2013 at his home.

He was born on October 10, 1932 to the late Jenny Willard Inman and James Jackson Inman in Stuart, VA.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sisters, Iva Collins, Lois Floyd, Mary Lou Robertson, and Ruth Pack as well as his brothers, Curtis Inman and Ernest Inman.

Mr. Inman retired from Danville Power and Electric as an electrician. He was of the Christian faith. Mr. Inman served in the Navy during the Korean Conflict and was involved with the American Legion.

Mr. Inman is survived by his wife, Marie Inman of the home; daughter, Anne Miles of Martinsville, VA; son, James (Eddie) Inman, Jr. of Martinsville, VA, sisters, Priscilla Rorrer and Annie Goode both of Woolwine, VA; grandson, Andrew Miles, who is currently serving in the Marine Corps in San Diego, CA as well as a special friend, Joyce Phillips.

A funeral service will be held at Norris Funeral Services Stuart Chapel, Stuart, VA on Saturday, October 12, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. with the Reverend Lewis Harris officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Burial will be at Creasey Chapel United Methodist Church in Stuart, VA following the service.

Memorial donations may be made to the SPCA of Martinsville-Henry County, 132 Joseph Martin Hwy, Martinsville, VA 24112.
