Edna Mae Frances Scarbrough passed away on Monday, October 21, 2013. Edna Mae lived out her 100 hundred years independently until she fell on September 18, 2013. She was a wealth of knowledge and she had stories to tell.

She was a graduate of Tennessee Wesleyan, and a member of several organizations including Eastern Star. Edna Mae dedicated her life ot the Methodist Church as private secretary in many local churches and church institutions. The highlight of her career was serving as secretary to four presidents at Emory and Henry College, Emory, Virginia, from 1956 to 1978.

Edna Mae credited her longevity to the fact that she "honored her father and mother." She was preceded in death by father, Mark A Scarbrough Sr; mother, Loe A Scarbrough; brother and sister-in-law Mark A Scarbrough Jr and Lillian E Scarbrough and nephew, Robert W Scarbrough.

She leaves behind nieces and nephews, Marsha and Joe Bauldry, Patti and Ronnie Barnes, Denise and Richard Anderson; great nieces and nephews, Loren and Keith Abbott, Jason and Lucy Scarbrough, Matthew and Mary LeClair, Joe and Monica Bauldry; great great nieces and nephews Claire and Matt Nelson, Jessica LeClair, Emma LeClair, Carlie and Cailer Abbott, Eli and Lily Scarbrough and many cherished relatives from the Scarbrough and Keisling families.

A graveside service will be held at Woodlawn Cemetery, 4500 Woodlawn Pike, in Knoxville, on Friday, October 25, 2013, at 11:00 am with Reverend John Jackson officiating and music by Steve Scarbrough. A celebration of Edna Mae's life will follow at Parkview West Senior Community, 10914 Kingston Pike, in Knoxville, at 1:30 pm.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Oakwood United Methodist Church, 334 East Burwell Avenue, Knoxville, TN 37917 or Emory & Henry College, Office of Institutional Advancement, P O Box 950, Emory, VA 24327.
