Hubert Marshall Krantz, of LeRoy, Michigan, passed away Wednesday morning, October 23, 2013, at his home. He was 83 years old.

He was born on February 25, 1930, in Goodlettsville, Tennessee, to Hubert and Lena (Utley) Krantz and they preceded him in death.

Mr. Krantz served in the United States Army for eight years during the Korean War. He worked at A & P Jane Parker Bakery in Detroit, Michigan, for 20 years before working 11 years for General Motors at the Cadillac Plant in Detroit and retired in 1989. After his retirement, he went to work at Dick Genthe Dealership in Southgate, Michigan. He moved to LeRoy in 2000. Mr. Krantz was a member of the Dighton Wesleyan Church in Dighton, Michigan, and the VFW of Allen Park, Michigan. He loved hunting.

On August 21, 1964, in Taylor, Michigan, he married the former Janie M. Beamon and she survives him along with their children: Gary (Natalie) Krantz of LeRoy and Lisa DeCouteau of Dearborn Heights, Michigan; grandchildren: Adam DeCouteau, Dillon DeCouteau, Haliey Krantz, and Connor Krantz; and a sister, Mae Edwards of Goodlettsville, Tenn.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and three sisters.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, October 25, 2013, at the Dighton Wesleyan Church with Reverend Derek Carpenter officiating and full military rites under the auspices of the Cadillac Area Honor Guard. Friends may meet the family one hour prior to the service at the church. His final resting place will be Michigan Memorial Park in Flat Rock, Michigan.
