GANCORZ Dorothy Marie (Lanese) Gancorz, age 79, a lifelong resident of Bridgeport, devoted wife of 44 years of the late Walter Joseph Gancorz, died at her Oxford home on Friday, January 28, 2005, surrounded by her loving family. All were in awe of her tremendous strength and courage during her illness. She faced these challenges with great dignity, courage and without complaint. Dorothy was born on May 19, 1925 in Darien, a daughter of the late Anthony and Carmella (Donofrio) Lanese.

She was a retired cafeteria aide at Samuel Staples Elementary School in Easton, where she received much joy and love from the staff and students. She is survived by her devoted daughters; Linda Turiano and her husband, Louis, of Monroe, and Dorothy (Dotsy) Costantini and her husband, Sebastiano, of Easton; beloved brothers, Anthony Lanese and his wife, June, of Bridgeport and Raymond Lanese of Trumbull; cherished grandchildren; ChrissyLyn Misinonile and her husband, Michael, Aimee and Jaime Turiano, Anthony, Sami, Michael, Joey and Angela Costantini; her beloved great-grandchildren; BreeAnn Turiano, Michael and Katelyn Rose Misinonile, Steven and Louis Scheck. She also leaves several nieces and a nephew. June Lanese was not only a sister-in-law, but a sister who could never be repaid for her devotion, kindness and support. A special thanks to Kim Burrows, Ileana Caran and Litsa Koutikas for their devotion, love and special care. To a woman who never said "Goodbye", just, "so long". She was the light of our lives and will be tremendously missed.
