Jessica Layne Rudell, 18, of Oakley, died Sunday, October 20, 2013. She was born June 20, 1995 in Englewood, CO.

Jessica was a 2013 graduate of Oakley High School. She was a member of the FFA and National Champion for goats and a runner up for horses. She was attending Colby Community College and was a member of the CCC Block & Saddle Club, Livestock Judging Team, Rodeo Club and Equestrian Team. She was also a member of Blazing Saddles drill team, High Plains 4-H club, American Quarter Horse Youth Association, the Kansas and Colorado Cutting Horse Association and Reining Cow Horse Association. She attended the 4-H National Quarter Horse Congress and was 1st Runner up for the McCracken Rodeo Queen.

She is preceded in death by her mother Tamera Lea Rudell-Mathias. She is survived by her parents Francis & Pamela Rudell, Oakley.

Visitation is 4-7 p.m. Thursday, October 24, at Baalmann Mortuary, Oakley. Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, October 25, at the United Methodist Church, Oakley. Burial will follow in Grinnell Township Cemetery.
