Rita R. (Foster) Amberly Passed away peacefully with her family by her side, at Our Lady of Angels Retirement Home, on Monday, February 2, 2009. Age 90.
Survived by two daughters, Joan (Neil) Strauss and Karen (Donald) Sutter; five grandchildren, David Strauss, Julianne Parent, Marijane Pattison, Rebecca and Daniel Sutter; seven great-grandchildren, Andrew, Aleesha, Brandi, Tiffani, Sebastian, Kyra and Hailey; son-in-law, Paul (Celia) Kottmer; numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
Preceded in death by her husband, Albert Amberly (1985); a daughter, Susan Kottmer (1988); her parents, William and Rose Foster; and a sister, Mary Evelyn Ruddy (1998).
Lifelong resident of Joliet and a 1940 graduate of University of St. Francis. Member of the Cathedral of St. Raymond's CCW, the Cathedral Club, OLA Auxilary, the St. Francis Alumni and USF Alumni.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady of Angels, 1201 Wyoming Avenue, on Saturday, February 7, 2009 at 10:00 AM. Interment Resurrection Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials to Joliet Area Community Hospice will be appreciated. Visitation Friday, at Our Lady of Angels from 2:00 PM -8:00 PM.
