A graduate of Academy High School, Mr. Cp;e was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of Park United Methodist Church in North East. For the past 61 years, Mr. Cole had been an automobile salesman for car dealers in the Erie area.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Lester "Lefty" P. Cole, in 1975.
Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Patricia Maitland Cole, whom he married on May 26, 1951; a son, Richard M. Cole of North East and his wife, Julie A. Cole; two daughters, Mrs. Suzanne Bronson of Ripley, N.Y., and her husband, John, and Mrs. Sarah Trevelline of North East and her husband, Robert; a sister, Beatrice Zwald of Erie; and two grandchildren, Gregory R. Cole and Ashley A. Bronson.
Burial will be at North East Cemetery.
