US Congressman. Born near Cambridge, Maryland, Daniel Maynadier Henry Sr. descended from a politically prominent family, and was the grandson of Governor John Henry, and the uncle of Governor Henry Lloyd. He attended the Cambridge Academy and St. John's College in Annapolis, Maryland, and was admitted to the Bar in 1844, practicing in Cambridge. On November 20, 1845 he married Henrietta Maria Goldsborough. After her death, he again married to Susan Elizabeth Goldsborough on November 26, 1859. Daniel Henry served in the Maryland State House of Delegates from 1845 to 1849, and in the Maryland Senate from 1869-1873. In 1876 he was elected to the first of two terms in the United States House of Representatives, and served from 1877 until 1881. After leaving Congress he returned to his law practice in Cambridge, Maryland.
