Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Tanner Allsop died at her home here Friday, 29 February 1952 after a long illness.
She was born Nov. 5, 1882, at Tooele, Tooele,Utah, a daughter of George and Martha Craner Tanner. She moved to Gentlie Valley in Idaho as a girl, then returned to Richmond, Utah, where she attended Richmond schools.
She was married to John Ira Alisop, May 18. 1879, in the old Salt Lake Enndowment Houase, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. In 1883, she moved to Fremont County, Idaho for three years before returning to Gentile Valley. In 1895,they moved to Grace where they have resideded since.
She was one of the first Relief Society teachers in Grace and spent much time in home nursing.
Surviving are five sons and daughters: Mrs. Evelyn A. Sessions, and Alma Allsop, Salt Lake City: William Henry Allsop, Poulaon,Mont.: Mrs. Chloe Collins, Carson City. Nev.; Albert Allsop, Grace: a brother. John Alma Tanner, Grace: four half brothers,and; half sisters. Frank Harris, Lava Hot §prings Charles Harris,and Mra. Louisa Hansen, Thatcher: Mrs.Annie Anderson, Grace, 28 grandchildren and 46 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 2 p.m, in Grace L D S Tabcrhacle by Irwin McCann, bishop. Friends may call at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Dick Smith, Grace, Sunday evening and Monday prior to services: Burial will be in Grace Cemetery, under the direction of Webb Mortuary, Preston.
